Learning how to dance at Fred Astaire Dance Studio of the Quad Cites is both easy and fun! In your very first lesson, which is our Introductory Special, you'll learn the basic elements of which all dance patterns are based and within hours, you'll be ready to dance! Don't put it off for another moment. Walk into Fred Astaire and Dance out!
Our unique method of teaching, The Fred Astaire Trophy System, includes regularly scheduled private instruction as well as group lessons and practice lessons. This system provides an easy way for you to track your progress while you enjoy dancing! Our Social and Advanced Foundation Programs teach beginner students the step patterns and techniques to move comfortably on the dance floor with any partner. From there, a student can progress through our Bronze and Silver levels - all the way to the Gold!
Private instruction with one or more key teachers gives you the specialized and personalized attention necessary to look and feel great on the dance floor, while developing the ability to lead or follow any partner.
Group lessons are also a necessary part of private instruction because this is where patterns, technique and style are learned. Equally important, group lessons provide you with the opportunity to meet other students with similar dancing goals.
Practice lessons complete the lesson information taught in our private and group lessons. Learning is one thing, but making the material work in a live setting while dancing with different people is quite another. This is what our practice lessons do. Teachers can then tailor their private lessons based on how they see their students progressing.

We are very pleased to have one of the USA's top competing professional couples available for teaching and coaching in our studio once per month. In 2007, Jonah and Lindsey placed 3rd in the United States National Professional Rising Star American Rhythm Division. They also advanced to the semi-final round of the World Professional Open American Rhythm Division at the prestigious and world's largest ballroom and Latin dance competition, The Ohio Star Ball, in November 2007.
All private lessons, group classes and private group classes with
Jonah and/or Lindsey are 45 minutes in length.
